How To Take Care Of Your New Coin Jewellery

There are two different methods for maintaining your ring depending on the finish - polished or antique. NOTE: all rings are made with "antique finish" unless you have requested the "polish finish" when ordering.

you can use an egg! Yes, using a boiled egg will turn your ring back to looking new again!

First, clean the ring with rubbing alcohol or hot water mixed with a small amount of ammonia and a drop of dish soap. Rinse and dry. DO NOT TOUCH WITH YOUR FINGERS! You don't want any oil from your fingers on the ring or this process will not work. Boil your egg for 15 mins, place the egg (shell and all) into a doubled-up pair of zip lock bags. Smash the egg inside of the bags. Gently wrap the ring in a paper towel and place inside the bag with the egg sealed tightly. Wrap the whole bag in aluminum foil to keep it hot, let sit for about an hour or lso. The ring can be left as long as it takes to get a dark color. If only a portion of the ring has darkened, rotate the ring and repeat the process. You can keep the ring in the bag as long as you need, to get the desired shade.

Now rinse the ring in water and dry. Next, use a nail buffer and rub the high points removing areas of tarnish you would like to have polished. Repeat this process as many times as you like. You can even switch your ring to a polished look and back to antique.

This egg method works due to the natural sulphur content in the egg yolk which eccelerates the oxidation process. All natural and safe!
